In a world increasingly reliant on technology, digital literacy is more important than ever. SALSO, in partnership with Digify Africa, recently embarked on the iLizwe Lam Digital Literacy project to equip learners with the essential skills to navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly.
A Digital Revolution in Soweto
Over the past few months, we've been hard at work visiting schools and community centers in Naledi, Soweto. From Thabo Secondary School and Thomas Mofolo Secondary to Prudens Secondary School, Mdeni Skills Development Center, and the Lufhereng community, Little Stars Daycare Center, Joe Gqabi Centre to Retlosebetsa (Pty) Ltd, we've reached over 1000 learners and nearly 150 adults.
Why Digital Literacy Matters
In today's digital age, cyber threats are a real concern. Phishing, smishing, and vishing scams can have serious financial and emotional consequences. By educating learners about digital safety, we're empowering them to protect themselves and their loved ones from online harm.
War on Cyberbullying
In today's digital age, technology has revolutionized the way we connect and communicate. However, with the rise of social media and online platforms, a darker side has emerged: cyberbullying. This insidious behavior can have devastating consequences on the mental health and well-being of young people. This initiative aims to empower learners with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. By educating young people about cyberbullying, digital etiquette, and online privacy, we hope to create a safer and more inclusive digital environment.
A Bright Digital Future
We're incredibly proud to be part of this initiative. By equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the digital world, we're helping to shape a brighter future for South Africa.
A Special Thank You We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Digify Africa for their invaluable partnership. Together, we're making a real difference!
Let's continue to empower our youth and build a safer digital future.
